How can you help at Home?

There are lots of things you can do at home to help your child and these include;

  • Sharing lots of books
  • Singing nursery rhymes
  • Counting at every opportunity
  • Encouraging them to get dressed independently
  • Talk about numbers, letters and words which you notice in the environment (road names, bus numbers, car registrations, shop signs)
  • Ensuring that they read their reading book every day
  • Encouraging them to write at every opportunity

At St Mary's, we follow the ReadWriteInc scheme for teaching phonics. Please follow the link below for further information on how you can support your child.
