Physical Education
Physical Education at St Mary's
At St Mary's, we believe that every child should discover the joy of being active and the confidence that comes from physical achievement. Our P.E. curriculum is designed to inspire all pupils to lead healthy, active lives and to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
Through a broad and balanced programme, children build the skills, knowledge and mindset they need to succeed — not only in sport, but in life. We focus on developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork, leadership and resilience, helping pupils to recognise the importance of perseverance, respect and fair play.
Our approach ensures that every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate, progress and shine. From daily active movement and playground leadership to competitive sport and creative expression through dance and gymnastics, we encourage pupils to be active, confident and inclusive members of our school community — living out the School Games Values in all they do.
